Roles

Host aboard a bus. (Approx 6-12 people)

Volunteers will be hosts aboard buses handling communication and customer service with riders. They should make it fun and uplifting, decorating their buses and passing out snacks/drinks.

Volunteers CANNOT OFFER ELECTION ADVICE. They can’t wear any clothing from a particular party. They have to be entirely non-partisan.Driving people to polls in their own carVolunteers will get a Lyft-like app that will tell them where and when to pick people up, which poll to take them to and when to bring them back. It SHOULD work smoothly. We want to have a training day before the big show with practice.Make/Take phone callsVolunteers making calls can do so from home as they reach out to organizations and community groups that may want to use the service. We’ll have a shared list of who has been contacted so we don’t double-contact groups.Passing out flyersVolunteers will need to pass out and post flyers throughout the districts that we’ll serve. We’ll need to keep track of the flyers we put up via an app so we can go back and take them down.

2. Send us a 30-second video of why this project matters to you.

We need you to film a video that's 30 seconds or more explaining why you're helping out with the Vote Bus. We're assembling a short movie about the project so we can get the word out and get more riders. A selfie video with a cellphone camera is just fine; use whatever tools you have on hand. It'll also be helpful to grow the project for more rides in 2020.Email the video to [email protected] when you're done. You got this! Let other people know why voting matters, why access is important or anything you personally want to share about your involvement in the project.

Happy to help.
