DBC's Dark Rye Debut & Free shuttles to Whole Foods

Watch Andy from Detroit BusCo Drive a Go-Kart!

Dark Rye debuts documentary on The Detroit Bus Company.  Plus: Free rides to Midtown Whole Foods all day Wednesday

A couple months ago, we were approached by the folks at Whole Foods' online magazine Dark Rye about doing a story on our company. We liked their previous work and invited them out to Detroit to hang out for a weekend on the town.  Working with the film crew was a blast (and totally pro: they just won a James Beard Award for this magazine, which is like the Nobel Prize of food writing).  The Detroit issue popped up in our mailbox yesterday, featuring this little gem!  http://vimeo.com/66851422

Very cool stuff!  Be sure to check out the rest of the issue online, with great stories on McClure's Pickles, COLORS restaurant and more Detroit goodies.  Tomorrow (Wednesday the 5th) the big day that Midtown Whole Foods opens its doors, and we're excited to be offering continual shuttle service to the store all morning along Woodward Avenue, from downtown to New Center.  Check out the map and jump onboard, anytime between 8am and 2:30pm!

In other news, we're super excited to kick out our first edition of Paradise Paved: The Detroit Living Architecture Tour this weekend with the inestimable Amy Swift, founder of Building Hugger.  We'll be looking at the good, the bad and the ugly of what's going on in Detroit land use: featuring exclusive looks at some of the city's most promising redevelopment projects & calling out the slumlords, profiteers and criminals that have a lot of prime property stuck in limbo.  Dude. You've gotta come.  We set sail Saturday morning, so get your tickets now!  -The Detroit Bus Company Team
