Elite riders of the Detroit Bus Company: As promised, here are a few events on the Greater Downtown Loop to get your wheels turning for this second weekend of Bettis the Bus’ regular downtown schedule:
Various downtown locations all weekend:
The Michigan Glass Project Weekend -- See Facebook page for details.
Magic Stick: Passion Nouveau -- $8, Friday, 8 p.m.
Cliff Bell’s: Thaddeus Dixon Quartet -- $10, Friday, 9:30 p.m.
Northern Lights: Lucy’s Brown Seville -- $5, Saturday, 9 p.m.
New Center Park: Caravan of Thieves -- free, Saturday, 8 p.m.
Some updates:
Expect the bus to show up every hour, as opposed to every 35 minutes. Weekend traffic our inaugural weekend gave us pause. Lots of pause. So it’s OK to take time to hoist another beer.
The Greektown stop has been moved to Clinton Street, which runs parallel to Monroe, two blocks toward Gratiot. Look for us on Clinton between Beaubien and St. Antoine. Monroe Street is just too nuts.
And some feedback:
Sunday operating hours (1 p.m.- 10 .m.). Think you’ll use them? Friday and Saturday were good, but Sunday was flat. Let us know what you think.
And some regular info:
Printed maps of the route are available on the bus for riders to carry with them, and the route also is available at http://thedetroitbus.com/dailyroutes/. And don’t forget our live tracker during riding hours. It shows you where the bus is!
Happy riding!
